Final Exam

Valid starting Autumn Quarter 2009.

The preparation of a dissertation brings the student to the Final Examination. This exam should be scheduled three weeks prior to the exam date, or more if so desired by the student’s supervisory committee. The exam consists of an oral presentation of the completed research in a seminar open to the public, to be delivered as part of the Department of Applied Mathematics Seminar Series. After the seminar, the student is expected to defend his/her contributions and results by responding to questions from the audience in a public session, and by members of the Supervisory Committee in a closed session.
