Minor in Applied Mathematics

Declaring a Minor in Applied Mathematics

Students in good academic standing may declare the AMATH minor at any time by meeting with their major adviser; there is no department admissions requirement or application process required. Please see Undergraduate Advising’s Minor page for additional considerations about earning a minor.

Minor Requirements

27 or more credits as follows (no substitutions):
1) MATH 124, MATH 125, MATH 126 (or MATH 134, MATH 135, MATH 136, or equivalent) (15 credits)
2) Four AMATH courses at the 300 level or above, excluding AMATH 400, AMATH 490, AMATH 498, AMATH 499. CFRM 4XX courses may count.*
3) Minimum grade of 2.0 required in each course. Courses must be numerically graded (no C/NC; no S/NS unless ECQ).

*Courses taken cannot apply to both the Computational Finance minor and the Applied Mathematics minor.  Visit our major/minor policy page for further information.
