Frederic Wan Honored in Conference Room Dedication Ceremony

On May 5, 2015, the conference room in Lewis Hall was dedicated as the Frederic Wan Conference Room to acknowledge the great service and contributions to the department of former chair Frederic Wan.

Professor Frederic Wan was the chair of Applied Mathematics from 1983 to 1988 before becoming the Divisional Dean for the Natural Sciences from 1988 to 1992. He is currently on the faculties of Mathematics, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California Irvine. An outstanding scientific career has helped Professor Wan earn a number of academic distinctions and accolades.

The Department of Applied Mathematics is proud to name its conference room in honor of Professor Wan, where his name will oversee the department’s most active meeting area for professional and academic discourse.
