Congratulations to Assistant Professor Ivana Bozic, who has received a National Science Foundation (NSF) Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) award! The CAREER awards are the NSF's "most prestigious awards in support of early-career faculty who have the potential to serve as academic role models in research and education and to lead advances in the mission of their department or organization." Her project, "Branching processes on graphs inform early detection of colorectal cancer," will make use of mathematical and computational modeling to inform early detection strategies for colorectal cancer, which are critical for reducing mortality.
