The UW CFRM program has been recognized as one of the top financial engineering MS programs in North America by the latest QuantNet Ranking. Our program surpassed MIT, UCLA, and University of Toronto to rank #11, rising three spots from two years ago and one spot from last year.
The ranking is based on competitive results in a number of attributes, ranging from peer assessment and student selectivity to job placement rate and starting salary. CFRM stands out with an impressive 95% job placement rate (at graduation), which ranks 3rd among all schools in the ranking, behind only Princeton and Columbia. On top of that, CFRM students also enjoy one of the lowest tuition costs among all schools in North America. “The ranking is a recognition of our students’ quality and our emphasis on industry collaboration. The program is fully committed to our students’ professional development and fostering relationships across the financial sectors in Seattle and across the US,” says Professor Tim Leung, Associate Professor of Applied Math and Director of the CFRM program.
The CFRM MS degree is offered by the Department of Applied Mathematics (AMATH) within the College of Arts and Sciences of the University of Washington. It can be completed either through the standard 42 credit general program or an extended course of study. For program overview, visit https://depts.washington.edu/compfin/ms-overview/.
